The title says it all, we can have serenity…. Is this a fact? Or a piece of fiction? That’s what I want to find out. I KNOW it’s possible to gain serenity in life. But… is it a fact for ME? And that’s what this post is all about, my journey to help myself and others find that serenity.
Changes
As you’ve recently found out from Papa, he is going to move his gospel related posts to a different blog. To a blog that will enable him to post to his heart’s content his love of being a Latter-day Saint! To where he can share his journey to becoming Zion. I am doing the same thing. I feel my focus on finding peace and serenity amidst the chaos of life isn’t well placed here at Zion Family Homestead.
Why?
I plan on continuing to write here at ZFH. I’m simply going to focus my efforts on what this blog was originally started for. Homesteading, food, prepping, and the like. My thoughts on peace and serenity, and how to get there, I’m not forgetting those. That is my main passion. I NEED my serenity. That peace I know is available if I but try harder. I know if I eat healthier, if I exercise more, if I learn to control my thoughts, I will find it. As I know I’m not the only one needing these things, I want to share them with you. With others. But I don’t want to clog up Zion Family Homestead with them, as they are not a part of what makes a homestead. Instead, I’m going to focus on these things at my new blog Serenity in Zion.
So What are You Going to Focus on Here, Lala?
To me homesteading is all about living off the land. Being able to survive without electricity (I actually lived many years without direct electricity. That’s a story all on it’s own!). Preserving foods, including ways to dry, smoke, can, etc. Both with and without electricity. I want to share a passion of mine – one that I’d actually forgotten about – doing everything from scratch. Not needing to rely on any processed items. Items such as food, medicine (herbs are amazing), clothing, etc. I want to share DIY tips, again relying on what you have on hand, what you can do yourself. I will place more thoughts and focus on these different areas. On my idea of what a homestead is.
