EDITED

I’ve added those pictures!

Organic Candied Yams!

I am so excited to share this recipe for homemade candied yams with you! I’ve never really liked candied sweet potatoes very much in the past. But, for our Thanksgiving Dinner we just had this year I wanted to make candied yams for my sister because she likes them so much.

Since I’ve been eating all organic food I needed to make homemade yams this year because I couldn’t find any at the store. So, I bought some sweet potatoes, found a recipe that looked good, and decided to give it a try. Of course, while I was making these, I had to taste test them to make sure they were good. And, oh my gosh, they were delicious! Even my husband likes them! And he didn’t even want to try them because he’s never liked yams before.

In my quest for perfecting this recipe, I only needed to make a couple of minor changes to make it qualified for the title of home made Organic Candied Yams – Perfected! They tasted so good, I couldn’t stop testing them as I was making them! I am so pleased that I was able to make these all organic. I didn’t have any organic marshmallows though, so instead of either going without our suffering a migraine, I decided to I top it with some of the streusel topping that I had left over from my apple crisp. It turned out AMAZING!

A Few More Things…

I was also able to use these candied yams to make a delicious sweet potato casserole. I will share that recipe very soon! But, for now, I will just share this recipe for candied yams / sweet potatoes (whatever you prefer to call them 😀) with you.

I didn’t take any pictures because I wasn’t planning on blogging about them. If I had known how amazing they were going to turn out, believe me, I would have! Anyway, there are two points to the previous sentences, 1) I wanted to make sure I got this out for Thanksgiving, just in case you needed a recipe for organic candied yams. And 2) Never fear, I will be making them again soon and will be taking pictures. And when I do, I will be sure to update this blog post!

Pictures added!

Here’s where I found the recipe!

Homemade candied yams are so much better than canned ones. I hope you try this recipe, so you can find out, for yourself, just how delicious homemade candied yams really are!
