I would like to share my spaghetti sauce recipe with you. It is full of delicious chunks of Italian sausage, onions, peppers, and mushrooms. The veggies are optional for those of you who don’t like them 🙂 but I think they add wonderful flavor and make a great addition to the sauce.
I have made my own spaghetti sauce for a long time. It always turns out great and everyone loves it, but I never measured before. I just threw some ingredients in and if it didn’t taste quite right, I would add a little more of whatever I thought it needed. This worked out fine for me, but I wasn’t able to share my recipe with anyone. So, I decided to try to measure my ingredients and come up with a delicious spaghetti sauce recipe that I could share with others. It was a little difficult – took quite a few attempts. But, finally, I came up with this recipe that the whole family approves of.
Tips for a Perfect Spaghetti Sauce
You can use whatever veggies you prefer in your spaghetti sauce. If you don’t like something, just omit it.
You can also add more vegetables to the sauce, such as olives, zucchini, carrots, etc. I like to add veggies to my spaghetti sauce for added nutrients and flavor. I think onions, peppers, and mushrooms are an amazing combination. But I don’t always have all those veggies on hand, so I’ll just use whatever vegetables I have. And it still tastes great!
I prefer to use Johnsonville Italian sausage in my spaghetti sauce. I have tried many other brands, but they just didn’t turn out quite right. I was actually pretty disappointed by this because I like to look for the best deal, but my husband told me Johnsonville Italian sausage was the best for spaghetti. I didn’t believe him at first and tried other brands, but he was right. Johnsonville does taste the best when making spaghetti.
Add crushed red peppers to add a little spice.
Pair this with some garlic bread using our whole wheat recipe.
