I would like to share this super amazing recipe, Sweet Potato Casserole, made with the candied sweet potatoes from my last blog, with you.
This sweet potato casserole goes great as a side dish for a big Thanksgiving feast. Well, I’ve been tempted to simply have this all on its own – if you just want something delicious! Honestly, it’s that good!
Sweet Potato Casserole
My mom and I first tried this sweet potato casserole at a Relief Society potluck. It was so good, we decided we absolutely needed the recipe! We asked the wonderful lady who originally made the dish for the recipe. She is amazing and gladly shared it with us. In my quest for perfection, I have made a few changes to the original recipe. It’s not too far off, it is very similar, mostly made organically friendly. Of course it still tastes delicious!!
Despite the fact that I didn’t like candied yams (I changed my mind after making my own fresh ones from scratch, check it out here), for some reason, it just seems like you have to have candied yams, sweet potatoes, or the like! Why is that, I wonder. Do you know? Anyway, I decided to make this dish for our Thanksgiving dinner this year, and because my husband said he didn’t like sweet potatoes, I remembered this recipe and how delicious it was. So of course I decided to make it! I was going to prove him wrong, that he really did like them!
After trying my ‘perfected’ Sweet Potato Casserole, my husband changed his mind. He liked this dish so much that he asked me to make a batch to bring to his family‘s Thanksgiving dinner! They loved it, too!
You just have to try this recipe! Everyone who has tries it, loves it. Even those of us silly people who thought they hated sweet potatoes!
I hope you will try this dish, so you too, can taste how delicious sweet potatoes really can be!!
